You were definitely thinking clearly - clear enough to set up this blog. Thanks!
For better or worse, you can view parts of New Orleans via satellite after Katrina came through. I found my parents' house, with roof still mostly intact, but under some obvious amounts of water. Not high enough to cover the tops of neighbors' cars though. Check it out here until it's taken down or gets too clogged to view:
